Daily Reflections

A DAILY DISCIPLINE

, . . when they [self-examination, meditation and prayer] are logically related and
interwoven, the result is an unshakable foundation for life.
TWELVE STEPS AND TWELVE TRADITIONS, p. 98

The last three Steps of the program invoke God's loving discipline upon my willful nature.
If I devote just a few moments every night to a review of the highlights of my day, along
with an acknowledgment of those aspects that didn't please me so much, I gain a personal
history of myself, one that is essential to my growth, or lack of it, and to ask in prayerful
meditation to be relieved of those continuing shortcomings that cause me pain. Meditation
and prayer also teach me the art of focusing and listening. I find that the turmoil of the day
gets tuned out as I pray for His will and guidance. The practice of asking Him to help
me in my strivings for perfection puts a new slant on the tedium of any day, because I know
there is honor in any job done well. The daily discipline of prayer and meditation will keep
me in fit spiritual condition, able to face whatever the day brings - without the thought of a
drink.

I am brand new to this site and going thru the links to see what is offered.

Is this site brand new?

I have been in AA for a long time. Was not diagnosed with any 'other' illness until 11 years ago.

So just explain what this part of the site is for?

Thanks

IN TIMES OF ILLNESS IN RECOVERY

We Hit that last bottom with that LAST drink or drug !

And our bodys are beat up so badly.. Or minds are badly hurt..

And our soul is were?

We become powerless over all this ..

We must and work all the 12 steps to be free of our disease and our additions.

Then there are times we must seek out side help Out Side the rooms of recovery.

It is suggusted we go to any effort any lenght to stay sober & clean..

And we must go to any lenght with our illness too..

The word H. A. L. T. in recovery needs to be used daily every 24 hours!

H A L T
H = HUNGRY
A = Angrey
L = Lonely
T = Tried

This is a must in recovery..
And even more in recovery with a illness.

We accept all our diseases step 1.

Come to belive in a power greater than our self step 2

We made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.... Step 3

These 3 Steps help me with all my illlness and disease..

We work all 12 steps and changes happen in our lifes we change we learn to deal with life on lifes turms .....and then another change we get sick....

The frist three steps will help you to accept this and more ... freedom of the Frist drink freedom of that frist drug....And we must learn that freedom of our body mind body and soul..with the 12 steps also....

Please Come share with us ..At;IN TIMES OF ILLNESS IN RECOVERY (SUPPORT GROUP ); Your pain is our pain we do this togeather never never never alone again ...

With recovery love & Support & All Fellowships ... Keith.W
