In the last few months of the year I and a number of fellow greeters at SoberFolk have not been the most faithful in our commitment. There are a lot of reasons why this happened, but if each of us could recommit or change our hours it would make a real difference.

I know that it makes a big difference to people when the come to the site to have someone here to say hello and welcome them to the site. In the last few weeks I have talked to a number of newcomers where I am the only voice of AA that they hear. Remember that we have a membership that is worldwide. So while it is early in the evening it is late at night in Europe when the voices of early sobriety worked in my mind. And when it is morning here in the US it is night in Asia. While we have meeting all the time here in Washington the number and distance between the meetings in the rest of the world can be enormous.

This program has worked for me all these years because I know that I am not alone. So a few hours of being here for others seems like a small price.

Thanks Seamus. And thank you for all that you do here. And thanks for being online so much today. I really need greeters to say hello to all the people who come to the site. ESPECIALLY all of the new members joining us today.
