About me
I am a divorced female, that has been through the complete wringer with the disease of alcoholism. Original soberity date was 1990 and went back out in 1995 and have been on a 14 year run. At the time of this writing, I now have 4.5 months. I have an awesome sponsor and work a strong program using the steps, reading both the Big Book and 12x12 and attending meetings every single day, sometimes 2-3 meetings a day. I believe in a loving, merciful and unconditional God that has brought me from the depths and gates of death from my drinking. As I slowly clean up the wreakage of my past, I now have light for a awesome future, ONE DAY AT A TIME. My disease is of a spiritual malady and is contingent on my spiritual condition. I have a daiy repreive, that starts out with prayer, faith and action! God bless the program of AA as I believe today was truly a Divine Inspiration. Once again God uses amatures (Bill and Bob) and not professionals LOL. He is great!

Kathleen, isn't life funny? A few days ago, a guy named Charlie sent me an email about SoberTalk.org. I didn't even remember signing up for it. He said that we need people to do some 12 step work and post some kind of a picture on their profile. I came expecting to help someone else... and you helped me more than all the meetings I've been to in the past 2 years! Thank you for your willingness to share! We really only have one day at a time. But ONE is a very lonely number when it comes to isolating. And being alone is one's head is a dangerous place for me when it comes to setting myself up for relapse. I know I need the fellowship just like I need the Sunlight of the Spirit. I used to go to dozens of meetings a week. I miss being with sober people!

Thank you for being the Big Book I read today!

Congratulations on having the humility and honesty to come back. You are a real inspiration to me. They say that you can't save your face and your ass at the same time, but so many of us with a lot of sobriety get so into looking and sounding good that we forget about the humility that a good spiritual program requires. I have so much face in invested in my length of sobriety that I wonder what I would do if I ever had a slip. God Bless you.
