About me: I, like many of us, am an alcoholic, and a substance abuser. For my first three years, I took cakes at CA,AA, and NA meetings. I used to say I belonged to 'aacana' ( other iterations don't work as well!)

I have worked all 12 steps, have a sponsor, and until medical problems prevented it, attended at least 3 meetings per week.

My sponsor, Vic T, has his car lot next to the apartment building I live in. I visit him on a daily basis, and encounter fellow alcoholics there on a regular basis.

Rusty D.,

My Sponsor, Vic T., died on March 10, 2010 with 35 years of sobriety. It brings great sadness, but his life was testimony to the positive force of the program. He helped many during those 35 years, through sponsorship, and through meetings, including me. His legacy will live on through me, and others he sponsored.

I will always be grateful to the program, to God, and to him for that.
