About me: I never drank and I went to meetings. It was at the meetings that I found the next indicated thing to do (the steps). It was in the meetings that I learned that I had an illness. My drinking was neither a bad habit or a sin. I was loved by people in the rooms until I was able to love myself. I owe a dept of gratitude to Alanon and that my wife and I could blend our programs and still be happy together after nearly 43 years of marriage. I was attracted to AA by the love of AA members that I met at meetings and stayed through the love of a higher power. The meetings are the glue that stuck my life together.
