About me

I work for a cleaning company in Stockport.I do volunteer work twice a week on the ward were i was admited when i was ill through my drink problem.I was given a few weeks to live if i carried on drinking.After being in hospital for a few weeks,i was discharged, but had to leave my job because i so ill.After a long hard struggle and the love of my friends and family i have been sober since the day i was admited to hospital,which will be six years on the 2nd of June 2010.Its not been easy but nowing all the things i would lose, and the people who have stood by me.My wife of 37years. 38years on 17th of March,my children who are now grown up, and all my friends.Not once did they ever offer me a drink but helped me when the going was rough.I am now the happiest i have been in a long long time. I still have many health problems and have to have tests every so often to check my liver and other things what ive damaged through my drinking.Its not been easy but i look at my 3 grandchidren and think is it worth going back to what i was doing before.I no its a long road and it wont be easy,but i am going to give it my best.
