About me
AA saved my life twice:

First, from the ravages of alcohol, in 1988.

But....I stayed away from the program for five years (about 13 to 18). I did not drink, but I isolated completely and sort of cracked up. Locked ward and all. I learned then that we humans are pre-wired to need social interaction and FRIENDS who know us. And of course, for me, that means lots of meetings, lots of recovery friends.

I tell this story in hopes that it might keep someone else from trying that lonely road that doesn't work.

Now I will go explore this site---thanks for inviting me!
